VEA Restaurant locates at the top floor of a new commercial building in Central, to boast a sweeping view of Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour and skyline. It is a Modern French fine dining room filled with Fior di Pesco Carnico marble table-tops and bronze finishings, with a state of the art open kitchen. The use of ordinary, industrial materials such as copper to create a sleek, elegant look is inspired by a dinner prepared by Chef Vicky Cheng, who can turn any ingredient into culinary art.
With space planning, the extended open kitchen is embraced by clusters of seating hubs where groups can enjoy the intimacy of conversation, and be mesmerized by the culinary team at the same time. For guests looking for extra comfort and privacy, they can be seated at the low lounge tables that are surrounded by vertical copper rods to imitate oversized whisks, yet still able to watch the culinary team at work.
To elevate the overall experience is the private dining room behind the galvanized steel checker plate door. Highly recommended for a table of eight, but also suitable for 10, guests sit around a one-of-a-kind 3m long dining table, carved out of a Bali salvaged tree trunk, while classy elegant blue leather armchairs and hand-painted trompe l’œil wallpaper accent. A large window allows diners to enjoy an insider’s view of the kitchen, which can be fogged up in a flip of a switch for extra privacy.
